Boddhi Satva

Boddhi Satva

Coined as the father of Ancestral Soul, a sound where deep house music has a Congolese rumba as wife, West African voices as mistresses, and urban R&B and Afro-Cuban rhythms as occasional girlfriends. Hailing from the Central African Republic, Boddhi Satva is a DJ/ Producer that is not only changing the way people perceive dance music but the way they experience it as well. From being one of the only DJ/ Producers showcased on Coke Studio Africa’s TV show to having his music released by some of the most prominent independent record labels such as Osunlade's Yoruba Records, Bob Sinclair’s Yellow, and Dixon’s Innervisions. Boddhi knows how to keep one foot on the mainstream and the other on the dance floor and is known widely as a protégé to Grammy -winning Lil Louie Vega’s (Masters at Work), who is on board as the Executive Producer of Boddhi’s album Invocation, released in 2012. The BBE-released debut was celebrated the world over by many including the global tastemaker Gilles Peterson. 2014 has Boddhi travelling to all four corners of the world. From open air festivals, to the most renown underground venues including residencies in Europe, North America, & Asia. To top that, Boddhi’s newest production for American/ Nigerian Multi platinum selling artist Davido & Ivorian standout DJ Arafat, “Naughty”, is on heavy rotation not only in Africa but across Europe and the US. His newest release is the single “Benefit” from his Sophomore album, Transition. It’s a marriage between Soul Music and Afro House featuring the UK’s Legendary Omar Lyefook MBE. All this and Boddhi still manages to be a cultural ambassador of good music and a testament of the tenacity of the human spirit.
