Jerry Goldsmith (de son vrai nom Jerrald K. Goldsmith) est un compositeur américain né le 10 février 1929 à Los Angeles en Californie. Il est décédé le 21 juillet 2004 à Beverly Hills en Californie. Compositeur de nombreux succès du cinéma et de la télévision, il fut 16 fois nominé aux Oscars mais n'en a remporté qu'un seul, en 1976, pour La Malédiction. Ses thèmes envoutants ont accompagné les images de Paul Veroehven (Basic Instinct, Total Recall), Ridley Scott (Alien), Roman Polanski (Chinatown), Joe Dante (Gremlins) et beaucoup d'autres.
