Heavier and darker than ever. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Funeralium/206917779330589 The band was founded in Paris in 2003 by Marquis and Berserk (ATARAXIE), soon joined by Ys…and Toxine (HEOL TELWEN). In 2004, Funeralium sets the bases of its own style by releasing the demo tape « ultra sick doom » (500 ex, Bang Or Be Banged), which was entirely recorded by the band in Berserk’s home studio within a few hours : a sick and insane mixture of doom metal, dark metal, and extreme metal. The band then plays gigs and festivals in France, Netherlands, Belgium with bands such as Bunkur, Halo, Wormphlegm, Forgotten Tomb or Thee Plague Of Gentlemen. In 2006, Funeralium records its first self-titled album. Produced by Berserk, it is mixed and mastered by Axel Wurnstorm at the Walnut Groove Studio (Carnival in Coal, Wormfood). The album is released in 2007 by Totalrust (CD) and Ostra Records (DLP version). The good reviews allow Funeralium to reach a respected status in the international extreme doom scene, and to play subsequent gigs in France and in foreign countries (Dutch Doom Days, Ashes To Ashes fest, etc.) The composition process of the second album, « Deceived Idealism », starts at the fall of 2008, and will see the band go through a few line-up changes. Finally, the band’s line up will remain the same from mid-2010 on, and nowadays includes A.D. K'shon (INBORN SUFFERING) on drums, Charlesward (bass), Berserk (Guitar), Marquis (guitare/vocals), and Asmael Lebouc (DISJECTA MEMBRAE, bass/vocals).
