Shakti
Shakti est le nom d'un quintet unissant le jazz fusion et la musique indienne, avec les virtuoses John McLaughlin à la guitare, Zakir Hussain Khan au tablâ, Vikku Vinayakram au ghatam et L. Shankar au violon et R. Raghavan au mridangam. La première incarnation de ce groupe musical eut lieu entre 1974 et 1978. Certains membres se réunirent à nouveau pour former Remember Shakti en 2000, produisant des albums et une tournée de 2001 à 2002. Ce groupe accueille de manière alternante divers artistes indiens : Hariprasad Chaurasia, Shivkumar Sharma, U. Srinivas, V. Selvaganesh, Taufiq Qureshi, Shankar Mahadevan. www.remembershakti.com
