A Baby, the ALBUM - Fortunella Fortunella. Mix of the emotion of « feeling fortunate » and the Nutella paste : somehow the association came up at breakfeast. This album represents a year of our deepest emotions and happiest moments. Crazy summer afternoons jamming with the rest of the band, intimate moments on the guitar, sudden boosts of inspiration while walking in the street, repeating the same tune like a mantra for a week untill eternalising it in the studio,.. Of course the album talks about loooovvve, but also about the simple joy of being alive and reflections about society. Our guest musicians on the album are some of Belgian’s finest : charismatic african backing vocalist and guitar sideman Wahtanga Rehema (Zap Mama, Maurane, Khadja Nin,..) Sensual jazzy backingvocals Christa Kiù Jérôme (Marc Moulin, Manou Gallo,..) Belgian upcomming star on rhodes/piano Joseph Dumoulin (Magic Malik, Octurn, ..) groove de la groove drummer Patrick Dorcean (Brahim, Hadise, Sandrine, Moiano, ..) and skyrocketing guitarsolist Francis Perez. Finally recorded in a snowy winter in a mountainvalley in France, mixed in our own 1060 mix-studio, and mastered at Gallaxy studios with Darcy Proper. 60 minutes of quality time. Bio After school Joy dedicated the past 5 years to making songs. Through this journey she discovered that voice, one with an intensity so unique, she never imagined was there. Teaming up with Renoar, a gifted and intuitive producer and composer, has been equally rewarding. Joy and Renoar have been composing since 2005, starting a band in 2007 under the name 1060. The debut came in 2007 through the single: Wrinkles with airplay on Belgian national radio: Stubru, Radio 1, La première and Pure FM as well as on local stations in Brussels and Ghent. For several months the “Wrinkles” video aired on JimTV, Tmf and TV Brussel. On Jimtv it reached the top 3 for best Belgian video.. Although newcomers, the debut single was considered a success : 1060 charmed announcers in radiostations also because the band’s name can be pronounced by anyone in their mother tongue. In 2008, 1060 performed live regularly: various venues in the Brussels scene, Polepole festival, Kosovo jazzfestival, the Parcours d’Artiste, Tavernier Jazz Breaks, .. Now, september 2009, 1060 presented their first album: Fortunella. The new single KINGS is already played on national radio.
