Ensiferum est un groupe finlandais de death metal mélodique, aussi qualifié de folk metal ou viking metal en raison de ses influences instrumentales. Leur style se caractérise par un rythme rapide et une mélodie entraînante, des paroles épiques et une opposition entre les choeurs chantés en voix claire, typiques du viking metal, fréquents dans les refrains et les puissants death metal growls figurant dans les couplets.
